Henry's Olives in the News

The curing madness is underway at Henry's Olives. The third TON of olives arrived Saturday and will commence the curing process as soon as the batch ahead of them has been transferred from the curing vats to their spices. This year the Sevillano olives are beautiful. There are gigantic 'plum' Sevillanos along with rare petite Sevillanos, very similar in size to Manzanillos. The Italian varieties from the Winnett Vineyard continue to ripen on the tree and should be ready to harvest sometime next month. These Humboldt-grown Mediterranean varieties were crisp and wonderfully rich in flavor last year and we are really excited to see how the matured trees have enhanced the olive this year. The past year was kind to some olives and cruel to others… the Manzanillos didn't fair so well. All is well though, we have LOCAL olives and can't wait for you to try this year's crop!

Henry will be delivering the first olives to the Arcata Co-op and Wildberries tomorrow. He will have plenty of new olives at Arcata Farmers' Market too, so be sure to swing by and see him and try a fresh, I mean FRESH olive!
